Struggling with Stubborn Fat? CoolSculpting Could Be Your Answer

CoolSculpting can help you get back into your favorite jeans. No needles, no surgery, and no downtime required.

Are you close to your ideal weight but still troubled by stubborn fat pockets that diet and exercise can’t seem to shake? If so, one solution to consider is CoolSculpting. This non-invasive treatment is perfect for targeting and reducing localized fat. But is it the weight loss answer you’ve been searching for? Find out whether CoolSculpting is the right fit for your weight loss goals.

What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting®, also known as cryolipolysis, is an FDA-approved non-invasive fat reduction treatment. Unlike traditional fat loss treatments, CoolSculpting doesn’t shrink fat cells; instead, it eliminates them by freezing the fat cells – no anesthesia, needles, or incisions required.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting applicators use controlled cooling to target and freeze fat cells without damaging surrounding tissues. When exposed to the cold, fat cells undergo crystallization and die. Over several weeks, your body’s natural processes gradually eliminate the dead fat cells, leading to fat reduction in the treated area.

CoolSculpting at Young Medical Spa can treat these areas:

  • abdomen
  • upper arms
  • waist
  • love handles
  • flanks
  • muffin top
  • inner and outer thighs
  • back fat
  • bra roll
  • gynecomastia
  • under chin

Is CoolSculpting for Obese Patients?

CoolSculpting is a body contouring treatment, not a weight loss solution so it must not be treated as such. While CoolSculpting reduces fat pockets, it does not significantly reduce body weight. It’s more about contouring and shaping the body than dropping the pounds on the scale.

This treatment works best on smaller fat deposits. For overweight or obese individuals, the desired results might be less noticeable due to the larger volume of fat tissue. If you’re looking to lose significant weight, semaglutide for weight loss may be a better option. Semaglutide is a peptide that increases insulin production, decreases glucagon synthesis, delays gastric emptying, and suppresses the hunger centers of your brain, helping you lose weight more sustainably.

With our semaglutide weight loss program, our patients loose an of average of 2lbs/week, though results vary by individual. It comes with weekly check-ins and weight loss coaching resources so we can track and monitor your progress. Right now, we are giving $100 OFF your initial visit for Semaglutide until January 31st. Kickstart your weight loss goals this year by taking advantage of this offer!

Is Coolsculpting Permanent?

Since the treated fat cells die and are removed by the body, the results of CoolSculpting are considered permanent. This means that the specific area treated with CoolSculpting will have fewer fat cells compared to the pre-treatment condition. During each CoolSculpting session, you can expect to lose 20 to 25% of the fat cells in the targeted area.

However, it’s important to note that while the treated fat cells are gone permanently, remaining fat cells in the area (or other areas of the body) can still enlarge if you gain weight. This can alter the overall results, as new fat accumulation might occur in other areas of the body or even in the treated areas, albeit to a lesser extent. This is why it’s important to maintain a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle to preserve your CoolSculpting results.

Does Coolsculpting Work On Cellulite?

Cellulite is a different issue from excess fat. It’s a common skin condition that creates a dimpled, lumpy appearance, often described as resembling cottage cheese or orange peel. CoolSculpting primarily targets fat cells and is not intended for treating cellulite. For cellulite reduction, other treatments like Cellulaze and VelaShape® might be more effective.

Cellulaze is a minimally invasive laser treatment for reducing the appearance of cellulite. It uses laser energy to break down the fibrous bands of connective tissue (septae) that pull down the skin and create dimpling. By severing these fibrous bands, Cellulaze helps to release the skin dimpling.

On the other hand, VelaShape is a non-invasive body contouring treatment for cellulite reduction and reshaping specific areas of the body. It uses a unique combination of infrared light, bi-polar radio frequency, vacuum technology, and mechanical massage to target and reduce fat cells and cellulite. Typically requiring multiple sessions, VelaShape provides a smoother skin surface and reduces circumference in areas like thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and arms.

Why Choose CoolSculpting?

Many are concerned about localized areas of unwanted fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise (e.g., love handles, muffin tops, belly bulges). However, not everyone is keen on getting surgical procedures like liposuction. Most men and women prefer non-invasive, quick, and hassle-free treatments that fit into their busy schedules and CoolSculpting is all of these.

CoolSculpting as a solution:

  • Offers targeted fat reduction in problem areas without needles or incisions.
  • Fits seamlessly into your schedule with no downtime. CoolSculpting sessions typically last between 30-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
  • Delivers gradual, natural-looking results that enhance your physique without invasive procedures.
  • Is painless with only mild side effects. During treatment, patients may experience a numbing sensation. After treatment, slight swelling, redness, or bruising may occur but they typically go away on their own within a few days.

Who Can Perform Coolsculpting?

CoolSculpting should be performed by trained and certified medical professionals. These typically include dermatologists, plastic surgeons, licensed aestheticians or cosmetic nurses, and medical spas with qualified staff.
