All frown line treatments need an ingredient to stabilize botulinum toxin type A, the protein responsible for smoothing moderate to severe frown lines. Conventional treatments use human serum albumin, a blood product, as their stabilizer; some also use a cow's milk protein as a protectant. DAXXIFY™ is unique because it is the only formulation that uses a novel peptide as a stabilizer and does not contain human or animal byproducts.
It was studied in the largest clinical study ever conducted for a frown line treatment, with more than 2,400 people across different ages and skin types. There were no serious treatment-related side effects in those trials. The active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, has been used in frown line treatments for more than 20 years, and 96% of people treated reported they were satisfied with their results when evaluated at 4 weeks.
