We feel privileged to have earned your trust and confidence over the years. Every time you visit us for a treatment, you share a part of your life with us, and it helps us to understand your needs and serve you better. Sometimes, you may admit that you are feeling low about yourself, and your honesty enriches our aesthetic practice by reminding us of a very important truth—that beauty is an inside job.
Truth is, all the aesthetic treatments in the world won’t help you feel better if you have a persistently low opinion about yourself. Your mind and body are ever-connected, and to achieve your best on the outside, you need to feel your best inside.
We are committed to total body beauty and wellness at Young Medical Spa®, which is why we recently explored the benefits of mindfulness in a recent podcast. To help you embrace the positive and boost your confidence, here are some key tips provided by Lenore Stine, MA, LPC, of Lehigh Valley Counseling.
Make meditation a habit.
Book-end your day with mini meditations in bed or a quiet corner. It only takes 3 to 7 minutes of meditation to reap the benefits, which include improved focus and reduced stress.
Make it easy on yourself by downloading a meditation app on your phone and following a guided meditation of your choice.
Stuck in traffic? Instead of cursing the world, try counting the birds or observing the clouds moving across the sky. You’re sitting there anyway, so you might as well make it a mindful moment!
Let it go.
You can’t prevent the negative thoughts from coming in, but no one says you have to hold onto them. Every time a negative thought occurs, try replacing it with a positive thought. Even if you aren’t in the mood to think positive, you are essentially training your brain. And you know what they say—practice makes perfect.
We are truly honored to be your partner in self-care, and we can’t wait to help you bring out your inner and outer best for 2018 and beyond!
