What is Microblading?
Eyebrow microblading is a manual and semi-permanent technique that works to create hyper-realistic and natural-looking eyebrows. The technique works by creating tiny, hair-like, pigmented strokes on the surface of skin. The result is fuller, defined, and the perfect eyebrow shape that best suits you. This revolutionary treatment offers lasting results for fabulous eyebrows without the endless time and money wasted on maintaining your brows.
What to Expect
Appointment times typically last about 2.5 hours. The process includes an initial consultation in order to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and aesthetic goals.
Before beginning, the shape and color is professionally selected by Nurse Sally, our eyebrow microblading specialist.
During the process, the specialized microblading device works to create the tiny hair-like strokes using the color selected for you. There is minimal-discomfort during the treatment process which is dependent upon the individual client. There may be slight discomfort or redness following the treatment, but should soon subside.
How long do the results last?
Following your microblading session there is no required downtime. Pigment retention and lasting results mostly depends on each patient and the natural oil production of skin. The more oily your skin is, the shorter the results may last.
Excessive sweating, sun exposure, and the use of abrasive skin treatments such as facial peels (fruit acids, chemical peels, laser treatments, retinols, skin lightening creams, and similar treatments) should be avoided for at least a month prior to microblading. These activities will also affect long-term pigment retention. On average, the expected time until new refreshment of pigment is 10 to 14 months. If the skin is more oily, pigment may last approximately 6-10 months. How you take care of your post-treatment brows makes up 70% of total treatment success and retention.
Touch ups will be needed after the first application and continued results are required in order to maintain your brow look.
Does it hurt?
Pain during the treatment is individualized per client’s pain tolerance. Microblading is considered a superficial permanent makeup and should not be painful, but discomfort is common during the treatment and possibly immediately afterwards. Typically the sensation is similar plucking your eyebrows. Upon request, a topical anesthetic can be applied prior to the treatment.
How are the shape and color decided?
Symmetry of shaping the eyebrows is created according to facial structure and features. Each set is unique and beautiful. Your pigment is determined according to the natural color of your eyebrows as well as your hair and skin tone. Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hair growth in order to achieve a hyper-realistic eyebrow look.
